About this lookup
What each lookup shows
A lookup lists every member of the S&P 500 on the date you pick, with the company's name, its ticker, the day it joined the index and whether it is still in the index today. Companies that later left the index are included, whether they were acquired, merged, delisted or replaced, so the list matches the index as it stood on that day.
Dates covered
Any date from 31 December 1925 up to the present day can be looked up. The index tracked about 90 companies until it widened to 500 on 4 March 1957, so lookups for earlier dates return a shorter list. Weekends and holidays work too and return the list in force on that day.
